WCAG

Stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The Guidelines are published by the Web Accessibility Initiative and produced with input individuals and organizations around the world. It provides a basic standard for web content accessibility that meets the needs of individuals, organizations, and governments internationally to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

It includes information about:

  • text;
  • images;
  • sounds;
  • and code or markup.

It is considered a basis for web accessibility, but not an end-point.

On first use, use Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. On subsequent references use WCAG with the <abbr> tag:
