A person who uses a manual or motorized wheelchair for mobility. This includes those who propel themselves, whether manually with a push-ring or with a motor, and those who are propelled with the help of another person; those who transfer themselves into the wheelchair and those who require the assistance of another person to transfer into their wheelchair; those who can ambulate or stand and use a wheelchair for mobility, and those who cannot ambulate or stand and use a wheelchair for mobility; and others.

Do not use phrases such as in a wheelchair. The preferred term by the Disability community is wheelchair-user.
